SOPHISTA CAKES

ABOUT US

About Us

“HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!”

At LS SophistaCakes, every dessert tells a story — one of family,
faith, and flavor. Founders Lisa and Shelley
share more than a love for baking; they share a lifelong bond built
around tradition, creativity, and the joy of bringing people together
through homemade goodness.

Co-Founders & Partners, LS SophistaCakes

For friends and business partners Lisa  and Shelley, LS SophistaCakes is more than a bakery — it’s a dream
inspired by faith, friendship, and family tradition.

Lisa and Shelley’s journey began more than a decade ago, when they
first met as colleagues in the corporate world. Their shared passion for
creativity soon led them to collaborate on craft shows, where their
talent for baking and crafting sweet creations became a natural
extension of who they are.

Then, one night, God placed a vision on Lisa’s heart — a divine
nudge that woke her from sleep with a clear idea: create something
special. Having missed a few opportunities in the past by hesitating to
act, Lisa knew this time was different. She immediately shared the
vision with Shelley, and from that moment, LS SophistaCakes was born.

Together, they bring generations of baking experience and a deep love
for family into every cake, candy, and confection they create. Lisa, a
lifelong baker and homesteader, cherishes the traditions passed down
from her grandmother’s kitchen. Shelley, a proud grandmother of ten,
continues the legacy of baking with the same warmth and love she learned
from her own mother and grandmother.

Their partnership is a testament to faith, friendship, and following
God’s timing — a sweet reminder that when you trust His vision,
beautiful things rise. Through LS SophistaCakes, Lisa and Shelley share
their belief that family comes first, baking comes a close second, and
there’s always room for joy… and cake.

CO-FOUNDER & PARTNER

LISA

From the moment she first perched on a little red stool in her
grandmother’s kitchen, Lisa  discovered her lifelong love
for baking, crafting, and creating from the heart. A gifted crafter and
homesteader, Lisa has spent her life perfecting the art of homemade
goodness — from rolling out biscuit dough and baking cakes to candy
making and canning.

For Lisa, every treat tells a story and every recipe carries a memory.
Inspired by the strong women in her family — her grandmother, mother,
and aunts — she continues the cherished family traditions of creating
sweet delights that bring people together. Now, as a proud “Nonnie”
of two, Lisa finds joy in passing down those same traditions to her
grandchildren while sharing her passion for baking with others through
LS SophistaCakes.

Her faith, family, and creative spirit shine through every handcrafted
dessert she makes, embodying the LS SophistaCakes motto: “Have your
cake and eat it too!”

CO-FOUNDER & PARTNER

SHELLEY

For Shelley, baking has always been a labor of love and
a heartfelt family tradition. From the time she was a young girl in the
kitchen with her mother and grandmother, Shelley learned that baking is
more than just mixing ingredients — it’s about creating joy,
connection, and memories that last a lifetime.

Now a proud grandmother of ten wonderful grandchildren, Shelley
continues to share her love for baking by creating special treats that
bring smiles to her family’s faces. Whether it’s a warm batch of
cookies or one of LS SophistaCakes’ signature creations, she pours her
heart into every recipe.

Rooted in faith, family, and flavor, Shelley embodies the LS
SophistaCakes spirit — where “family comes first, and baking comes a
close second.” Through her passion, she helps spread sweetness, one
cake at a time.
